I am sure you have read many opinions about why a Donald Trump presidency would be good or bad for the financial markets. However, how much does it matter? Over time, despite what they may believe, Presidents have little effect on the financial markets. Earnings, valuations, investor sentiment and inflation have a much larger effect on the financial markets than anything done in the oval office. It is important to remember to stick to your strategy, look for value and remove emotions from your investment process. Often the opinion by the majority is wrong and it takes courage to step out from the crowd.
